New report on Forest Sector Nature-Positive Roadmap
Nature is under greater threat today than at any other time in human history. As the world rapidly awakens to the severity and urgency of the crisis, the level of global attention on nature loss is nearing that of climate change. The nature-positive concept has begun to unite the business community in its efforts to protect and restore nature and the ecosystem services it provides. To leverage this accelerating momentum, it is critical to clearly define nature-positive, and develop practical tools and frameworks that support businesses in implementing nature- positive strategies.
This new WBCSD report offers a shared definition of nature-positive for the forest sector as a bedrock for subsequent guidance and tools to support forest companies in the implementation of nature- positive strategies. The definition is grounded in a comprehensive set of actions forest companies should take to halt and reverse nature loss along the full value chain, to chart a course to the transformation of individual forest companies, the sector and the broader economic system in which they operate.
